Mushroom Varieties
1. Button Mushroom
Mushroom species have been found in association with 13,000 year old ruins in Chile. The Chinese value mushrooms for medicinal properties as well as for food. Many cultures around the world used or continue to use Psilocybin mushrooms for spiritual purposes as well as medicinal mushrooms in folk medicine.
2. Oyster Mushroom
Growing Oyster mushrooms, whether they be Grey Oyster, Gold Oyster, Pink Oyster or the King Oyster, they are all astoundingly beautiful. Sometimes you don’t want to pick them when they are ready, you feel like you are going to disturb the beauty of nature. The medicinal value of the Shiitake mushroom is extremely high and well worth growing for your own consumption.
Paddy Straw Mushroom
Straw mushrooms are grown on rice straw beds and picked immature, during the button or egg phase and before the veil ruptures. They are adaptable and take four to five days to mature, and are most successfully grown in subtropical climates with high annual rainfall. No record has been found of their cultivation before the 19th century.
